Information ecSplit handles

ecSplit stores account details such as your email address, display name, sign-in provider, and account identifier. It also stores the trip information you enter, including participant names, expenses, splits, currencies, exchange rates, payments, and invite settings.

Our hosting and authentication providers may process basic device, network, and diagnostic information to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

How information is used

We use this information to authenticate you, synchronize trips across devices, calculate balances, enable sharing, provide category suggestions, and maintain the reliability and security of ecSplit. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Service providers

ecSplit uses Google Firebase services for authentication, data storage, file storage, hosting, and server operations. Expense descriptions may be processed by Google AI services to suggest a category. Currency pairs are sent to the Hexarate exchange-rate service; personal account details are not included in those requests.

Retention and account deletion

You can permanently delete your account from the ecSplit app. Trips that have no other account members are deleted. Shared trip records remain available to the other members, but your account details are removed or replaced with a neutral deleted-user label so their financial history remains understandable. Limited backups and security logs may persist temporarily before routine deletion.

Security and children

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. ecSplit is not directed to children under 13.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as ecSplit changes. The effective date above will be updated when we do. For privacy questions, contact the developer through the support information published for ecSplit at ecsplit.eugenech.in.
